La Mesa, Ca

Carpet Cleaning La Mesa CaLa Mesa Ca is an interesting place.  A very beautiful place to be for work and living.  The atmosphere is a mix of the college crowd, and residents that have been there for decades.  A large area with its own set of zip codes like 91941 & 91942, & surrounding cities close by.  Mount Helix & El Cajon to the east, San Carlos & Santee to the north, Del Cerro & College Grove to the west, & Lemon Grove & Spring Valley to the south.  I’m not a La Mesa native, but I’ve been there many times in my life not only for work, but recreation too.  From downtown San Diego, I’d say it’s a quick 20 minute drive (traffic contingent).  Climate is nice all year round with the exception of about 3 weeks during the summer where the heat blazes!  As an inland suburb in an overall dry area of the country one would expect that.

La Mesa Village provides a whole host of authentic shops and vintage stores to shop from.  There’s some neat ones like Act II.  You can find some cool dress shirts for guys there, among other clothing.  Looking for vintage collectibles?  Try the La Mesa Antique Mall.  Find furniture, décor, art, and more.  A Sprouts Farmers Market exists right down the street, and there are great places to eat like City Tacos.  Casa De Pico in Grossmont Center is a popular place to eat.  Lots of people go, probably because the food and atmosphere is great!  The La Mesa area is a very busy place with lots to do and places to eat, too many to name here.

Now For Some Of The Entertaining And Scenic Things.

Speaking of outdoors let’s talk about Mt. Helix.  This place has some beautiful views of the county and offers a great hiking experience!  Make it to the top and you will find some stunning vistas.  Lake Murray is another known and frequented place to visit.  Comprised of parkland that surrounds a big reservoir, it’s a beautiful recreation site.  A favorite for many living in and around the county of San Diego.  Take an evening stroll on its paved trails, do some fishing, and even rent a kayak!  Another great location for some outdoor hiking adventures would be Cowles Mountain, also known as Mission Trails Park.  Even though it’s located just outside of La Mesa I thought it would be worthy to mention seeing as that it’s so close by.

Do you like all things music?  Let me recommend Guitar Center.  It’s a fun place to visit.  A bit of fair warning, though, it just may bring out your inner rockstar!  You’ll find anything and everything from DJ’ing, music production, acoustic equipment, and much more.  Go there frequent enough and you just might run into somebody famous like.

The Jewel Of The Hills – A Bit Of History.

Founded in 1869 the English translation for La Mesa is “the table”, or “the plateau”.  This is due to its geographical shape. Used by Spanish Missionaries in 1769, it was part of a larger tract of land called “Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala”.  A province of New Spain, it was the first Fransiscan mission in what was called “The Californias” back then.  For more history, visit the La Mesa Historical Society & Wikipedia.
